​​Hi! My name is Lea Patel, and I’m a second-year Neuroscience major on the pre-med track from Blacksburg, VA. Currently, I am an undergraduate researcher in the Kapur Lab where I study epileptic behavior in BHB injected mice. Outside of school, I love to hang out with my friends, read, and bake. I enjoy traveling and experiencing any and all adventures during my trips.

I applied to be a Peer Teacher because I wanted to share my love for biology and help make the course feel more approachable and engaging. As someone from an underrepresented background in STEM, I also want to show other minority students that they belong here and can thrive in these spaces.
