My name is Taliah Hamada and I am a second-year majoring in Biology with a double minor in Psychology and Data Science on a pre-med track. I plan on continuing my education in medical school and ultimately plan on going into either emergency medicine or general surgery. At UVA, I am involved in various pre-health organizations and the eGlobal Research Program researching tobacco as a culprit for cancers and cardiovascular diseases in Rwanda. I also shadow in Otolaryngology at the Eastern Virginia Medical School and in surgery at Sentara, and am looking forward to continuing that journey in undergrad. I wanted to become a peer teacher to foster a positive learning environment and act as a mentor for students learning to navigate their learning career path. Biology has always been an interesting subject for me, and I am excited to pass this on to new biology students!
