The Department of Biology’s Dr. Michael Timko was featured in The Daily Progress, a Charlottesville publication, to announce his first successful harvest of hemp plants, grown in collaboration with a private plant biotechnology company, 22nd Century.  This project was made possible by a three-year, $1.1 million grant in an effort to research medical marijuana.
