Dear Faculty, Students and Post-docs,

I am looking for some of you that would be interested in attending scientific conferences geared toward making contact with prospective students from groups less represented in science.

Briefly, Bob Cox (back when he was DGS) led an effort for BIOL to become involved in SACNAS and ABRCMS, and the Department is enhancing our commitment by funding fully the travel and participation for a couple of reps (say one faculty member and a student or postdoc) who feel comfortable representing the department and checking out the science. What’s more, UVAs representation has grown in recent years and our presence will be joined by Neuro/Brain, DEI, BME, Chemistry, EXPAND, and the Biocomplexity Institute, UVA a genuine presence.
