Dear UVA community and friends of Ray Lam,

Words cannot express the devastation that we are feeling at the loss of our wonderful friend, Ray. Without a doubt, he was one of the kindest, happiest, and funniest people that any of us will meet and he will be dearly missed by all of us.

Now we must think of Ray’s family and provide support in any way we can. His parents and brother do not have extended family in Charlottesville and need our help, particularly with funeral arrangements.

ALL are welcome! Ray’s brother has made it clear that Ray was an open person and would be happy to see so many people coming together to celebrate his life. There were certainly a lot of people at the hospital!! I don’t think the staff had seen the likes of it before.

A GoFundMe account has also been established on behalf of the family to help with funeral expenses and medical bills.
