Nation’s top brain scientists descend on UVA
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - Top brain experts from around the world gathered at the University of Virginia on Thursday, to talk about advancements made in brain and nervous system health.
“If we’re going to address some of these real societal concerns about diseases of the nervous system, we have to collaborate,” Co-director of UVA Brain Institute Sarah Kucenas said.
Kucenas helped organize the brain symposium.
“We’ve had over 300 registered guests that have joined us from both internal to the University of Virginia, and also experts from across the country, and we’re bringing these people together,” Kucena said. “They think about neuroscience in the brain from the bench or really basic science and trying to understand how the brain is built and how it works, all the way to the bedside.”
