Congratulations to the Keck Center for attracting substantial NIH Office of the Directors (OD) Funding to purchase the Leica STELLARIS 8 tauSTED super resolution microscopy system (PI: Dr. Ammasi Periasamy). Super-Resolution Microscopy has become an indispensable tool for scientists to probe discrete molecular proximities. This system provides lateral resolution of about 30 to 70 nm (ranging from the size of a single large ribosome to about the size of a single coronavirus) within living cells. This awarded super-resolution microscopy system will benefit the basic and clinical sciences of University Virginia.
