Jenny Güler Receives A Prestigious NSF CAREER Award

January 7, 2021

An NSF CAREER Award is a prestigious grant available to science faculty at the early stages of their career.  Jenny Güler’s Award, titled “A paired experimental-computational approach to elucidate stress responses in early-branching eukaryotes”, will support her research program focused on understanding the biology of Malaria.  Recipients of a CAREER Award must integrate research and teaching and Jenny does this through her undergraduate class on the “Biology of Infectious Disease”.  With collaborators from the Curry School of Education and the UVA Library, she also plans to expand her development of virtual reality (VR) educational tools on disease to K-12 programs. Congratulations, Jenny!
