Congrats to Theresa Gibney and Ari Pani for their recent publication

Engineering the C. elegans genome with a nested, self-excising selection cassette.

Gibney TV, Pani AM. Genetics. 2026 Jan 20:iyag016. doi: 10.1093/genetics/iyag016. Epub ahead of print. PMID: 41557645.

The nematode C. elegans is widely used as an experimental model because its genes are easy to modify and observe in the living animal. Gibney and Pani describe a new gene-editing tool that lets scientists tag and study essential proteins without temporarily breaking them, making experiments faster, more reliable, and easier to scale.
