UVA Biology People Christie Schmidt

Christie Schmidt

My name is Christie Schmidt and I am a third-year student from Richmond, VA. I am currently majoring in biology, and minoring in psychology. I plan to attend medical school once I graduate, with the hopes of working in pediatrics. I am currently doing undergraduate biology research, focusing mainly now on creating a DR6 antibody. In my free time, I really enjoy reading, hiking, and trying new restaurants in Charlottesville. I really enjoyed BIOL 2200 when I took it, and I loved the hands-on nature of the class when it comes to dissections. Peer teaching interested me because of the unique role that a peer teacher has in the lab as both a student and a teacher. I think this approachability helps to foster an overall positive experience in the lab.
