UVA Biology People Asha Krishnakumar

Asha Krishnakumar

My name is Asha Krishnakumar and I am a second year from Fairfax, Virginia, planning to major in Neuroscience or Biology. After graduating, I plan on attending medical school. I wanted to be a Peer Teacher because I wanted to help my peers foster their love for science and help them out with difficulties experienced during lab. In many cases, students might not like certain subjects due to not being able to understand it properly, and being a peer teacher does not only help my peers with obstacles encountered, but also gives me a chance to learn from those I help. Other than peer teaching, I am a part of Student Council, I volunteer with Madison House, and participate in research. Aside from my academic involvements, I also dance as a part of a Bollywood fusion dance team, UVA Sharaara.
