UVA Biology People Rebecca Gorney

Rebecca Gorney

I am a fourth year from Clifton, VA majoring in Biochemistry. Upon graduation, I hope to attend graduate school and earn a M.S. in Pharmacology and Toxicology. In addition to peer teaching, I am Co-Chair of the Women’s Leadership Development Program and a TA for the STAT 2020 Biostatistics Lab. I also play the viola in the Charlottesville Symphony and volunteer in the OR at Martha Jefferson Hospital through Madison House. I became a peer teacher because I wanted to provide a link between the TA and the students. Additionally, having taken this course before and having previously peer taught, I am especially eager to pass along the tips and tricks I have acquired along the way and share my passion for science.
