Omar Guessoum Receives Grant from the American Heart Association

Biology graduate student Omar Guessoum (Ariel Gomez lab) has won a pre-doctoral fellowship grant from the American Heart Association. The AHA awards are open to aspiring academic and health professionals in order to enhance the integrated research and clinical training of "promising students who intend careers as scientists, physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists, or related careers aimed at improving global cardiovascular health". The award includes an annual stipend which matches the NIH scale for pre-doctoral fellows, as well as an additional $2000.00 per year for project support.
