Martin Wu has been awarded an Innovative STEM Projects award from Virginia Space Grant Consortium. Martin will take the cutting-edge Nanopore DNA sequencing technology to the classrooms at UVA and local high schools. He will demonstrate its power by detecting microbes around us in real-time and showing how this information can be used to predict antibiotic resistance in pathogens. The title of the proposal is "Minion Detective: Detecting Microbes Around Us in Real-Time”. Congratulations, Martin!
