Erci Nagy, Assistant Research Professor of Biology and Associate Director of the Mountain Lake Biological Station, is featured in the July 2 edition of UVA Today for his research into and co-authoring of a BioScience article on 'STEM' field education. “STEM scientists drive innovation and contribute to economic growth in this country. The biologists we train at Mountain Lake Biological Station apply their skills to critical societal challenges in the environment, health care, public policy and basic scientific understanding and advancement,” Nagy said. “The U.S. is falling behind in citizen scientific literacy. Programs like ours can help change that.” The REU Program ('Research Experiences for Undergraduates') at Mt.
