The Department of Biology at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor. We are seeking a colleague whose research complements and expands the Department's existing strength in developmental, molecular and comparative Neuroscience (http://bio.as.virginia.edu/research). The successful candidate will be expected to collaborate with colleagues across Grounds, as well as with the UVA Brain Institute to advance the University's strategic interest in neuroscience, broadly conceived.
The candidate will be expected to establish a vigorous, independent, and externally funded research program, and to contribute to undergraduate and graduate instruction and training. The new faculty member will have access to several training programs, including the Biology Graduate Program, the interdepartmental Neuroscience Graduate Program, the Biomedical Sciences Graduate Program, and the Neuroscience Undergraduate Major, and also become a member of the newly established UVA Brain Institute. A competitive start-up package and excellent research facilities are available.
